Casting for actors and actresses for the film"Nuummioq" was underway in Nuuk this weekend.

About 30 people came Saturday morning to the lobby of the Ilimmarfik university, to realize their dreams to be an actor or actress.

Otto Rosing and producer Mikisoq H. Lynge from the company 3900 Pictures (the postal code for Nuuk is 3900) plan to make the film this summer in and around Nuuk.

The film will be to be the first Greenlandic film produced by Greenlanders.

Many films which are produced in Greenland are made by makers from other countries, especially from Denmark.

Sermitsiaq wrote last week how Otto Rosing and Mikisoq H. Lynge has found inspiration from Igloolik, Nunavut, where there is established a local film production company, Isuma Igloolik, which produced the prize-winning film Atanarjuat.

"And of course we hope that our feature film also would get a premiere in Cannes," Lynge told Sermitsiaq.

The premiere of "Nuummioq" is set for May 2009.

3900 Pictures has produced a three-minute long trailer on: YouTube.com and Isuma.tv
