A research project led by Canadian and Danish scientists on Hans Island is now in its third month, Sermitsiaq reports.
The scientists have been gathering data on Hans Island for the past three months to create a weather model, according to the Berlingske Tidende newspaper.
They plan to use the information to determine how melting polar ice moves southward through the Nares Strait.
