Þórarinn Leifsson, a farmer in Keldudalur, told RÚV he saw the the bear walking along the road on the mountain. Leifsson told RÚV that he did not dare to come closer than 100 metres to the bear in his car.
Leifsson called the police immediately. It is not fun having it around in my outer hayfields Leifsson told RÚV.
Polar bears are not commonly found in Iceland.
Recently another wandering polar bear showed up in Newfoundland where it was spotted walking along a road.
