The regional administration in Murmansk has a new action program for indigenous peoples issues in the region, which it say is intended to help strengthen the sustainable economic and social development of the regions indigenous groups, reports the Barents Observer.
According to press spokesman Vyacheslav Sidorin, the new program will run from 2009 to 2015 and involve the regional Centre on Indigenous Peoples, the Murmansk regional administration and as several municipal departments.
